JAMAICA,
LAND WE LOVE

Guided by the Jamaican patois word meaning “something extra”, Brawta Craft and Brews is rooted in a blend of authentic cultural expression and true island life.  Brawta is the love letter of  Las Vegas native and Caribbean travel specialist, Ashlie Randolph. Her vision for Brawta Craft and Brews marries her passion for craft beer with the renowned culinary and artistic culture of her adopted home, Jamaica.

Ashlie’s love for Jamaica began as a small child listening to Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers in her father’s truck, and continued to grow as she discovered Ska music in her early teens.  She visited Jamaica for the first time at the age of 13 and instantly knew she had found her second home.  Through several return trips to the island, she became well versed on the richness of Jamaican culture and its people.

EBONY EXCURSIONS

Ashlie’s continued search for authentic experiences led her to study at the University of Western Sydney (Australia) and eventually start her travel agency Ebony Excursions.

As a Jamaica Tourist Board certified agent, Ashlie has curated a variety of unique itineraries for thousands of fellow travelers seeking authentic and elevated experiences including attending iconic events such as Reggae Sumfest and the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival.

It was during one of her many trips to Jamaica where she met her current business partner, Fern Elise.  As a photographer, creative director and Co-Founder of LiveStush, one of the island’s leading entertainment and lifestyle social media brands, the two bonded over a shared love of showcasing the multi-faceted richness of Jamaican culture with the world and have collaborated on an array of projects to do just that.

VEGAS
HOP-ERATIONS

It was during one of her annual pilgrimages to Jamaica that Ashlie was introduced to craft beer.  After returning to Las Vegas, she would discover a burgeoning community within the craft beer scene who effortlessly blended their cultural heritage and legacy of brewing with the modern craft beer community.

Ashlie has become a recognized fixture in the craft beer community, playing a leadership role as President of the Las Vegas Pink Boots Society and Brand Ambassador for Duvel and Ommegang beer brands, particularly in advocating for opportunities for “non-traditional” craft beer consumers to experience craft beer.

MO' BETTA BREWS

Her activities in the Las Vegas craft brewing community would lead Ashlie to met her eventual Mo’ Betta Brews co-founder, Alex Bernal. Much like her first encounter with Fern, Ashlie and Alex discovered a common bond for sharing their love of craft beer with those in cultures perceived as not being “traditional” beer drinkers.

What had started out as a group of friends, who would meet to attend craft beer events, has now grown into Mo’ Betta Brews - a collective rooted in brews and beats full of flavor, soul and craft. Mo’ Betta Brews is committed to creating and supporting opportunities for people from underrepresented backgrounds to explore craft beer through festivals, tastings, local beer-centric businesses, and other events within an ever-evolving craft beer community while having a good time with friends old and new.
